Philip Diehl ListeningThe world is always changing, especially the world of WDM Group. It is a fast paced company that is always on the move, always growing, and always looking for new opportunities. Think I am just bragging about the company? Let me give you a little bit of history:

  • 2007: WDM opens their doors with the first office in the UK, a profitable but difficult year persuading clients that publishing was experiencing a digital shift.

Total Brands: 1

  • 2008: Demand for our product grew and as a direct result we doubled our staff, opened two offices in North America, and launched additional websites and publications.

Total Brands: 3

  • 2009: As the economy declined WDM went into survival mode. Taking advantage of better economies abroad, efforts were focused on existing African business and operations opened in Australia and New Zealand resulting in a 10% revenue increase.

Total Brands: 5

  • 2010: We launched 7 new properties; opened an office in Mumbai and experienced a 51% growth in a booming industry.

Total Brands: 12

  • 2011: WDM is undergoing a digital facelift to stay ahead of the trend. We are adding multiple brands, opening offices in Sydney and Johannesburg and offering our products on mobile platforms.

Total Brands: 19

  • 2012: We will just have to wait and see what the future holds

Total Brands: TBD, but I can guarantee you at least 4 more.

I am grateful to be working for this company, because one month here is a year at any other company. In such a fast paced company that is always moving there is plenty of room for growth. I started off as an intern in the summer of 2010. I immediately began to work my butt off not only because that is the way I am wired, but because that is how a company this small grows so fast. Even interns were doing the work of 2 people and full time employees are doing the work of 4. As the company grew new opportunities came up and within 3 months I was a Marketing Research Specialist. Within another 2 months I was promoted to Marketing Coordinator. In both positions I saw how an online company operates and what needs to be done to be successful in such a competitive industry.  Now I happily take on the challenge of Marketing Manager. My fast growth in the company was a direct result of the company’s growth. In return for what the company has offered me I ensure the company’s progress keeps moving forward, we are always growing, and we lead innovation. Why? Because that is the only world I know, one of hard work progress and innovation, the world of WDM Group. Look out 2012; it is going to be epic.
